Centaur Noir's Recovery album is a collection of songs written between 2018 and 2020. The story goes after ten plus years of making music at Sound & Vision Studio in downtown Moline the artist began temporary work on the second floor of downtown Rock Island's Laborspace building where a large portion of the album was written and recorded. Before too long the artist found themself back in Moline just across the parking lot from where they were before but now in Apt. 2 where the remainder of the album was written, recorded and mixed.
Recovery is one of two complete albums written during this era that have yet to be released, until now. The collection here are all song ideas that started off on acoustic guitar. Some completely fleshed out before recording and some of them with bits and pieces patched together and written on top of in the studio. The outcome is a less dancey, more straightforward singer/songwriter form of Centaur Noir. It wasn't until the summer of 2023 before the album's mixes would be finalized and mastered. Ironically completed while the artist was held up in Apt. 2 in recovery from a broken foot.
